月並み？だが、自分が養子だった事。
高校の修学旅行でパスポートが必要になり、戸籍謄本を取った時に愕然とした。
その日は何も手に付かず、夕飯で両親が揃った時、思い切って問いただした。

最初は鳩が豆鉄砲食らったような顔をしてた父が、みるみる目と口を開いていき。
「忘れてた！！」
今度は私が豆鉄砲を食らいました。

結婚当時、子宝に恵まれず、まだ赤ん坊だった私を施設から引き取った事。
年頃になったら説明しなきゃいけないなあ…と思いつつ、3人で生活している内に
養子という意識も薄れ、私が中学生になった頃にはすっかり頭から抜け落ちていた事。

「いや、小学校卒業した時に説明するかどうか悩んだ記憶があるから、それまでは覚えてたんだよ」
などとしどろもどろで言い訳する両親を見てると、ああ、二人は間違いなく私の両親なんだなあと
思えて、なんだか泣き笑いになってしまった。
